The special report about the Kodiathur teachers' efforts to bring back the agriculture in the barren fields as well as success of Kattampallil paddy and fish project have brought immense pleasure to read in today’s (Sept 12, 2011) Kerala Kaumudi daily. Since our people are reluctant to touch the soil now adays and finding it an uncultured job, our ancient glory of producing our food has become a thing of the past. Now we are looking towards north for the trucks carrying food materials and our festivals became an actual harvest to the agriculturists of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka etc.

I belong to the constituency of our chief minister and last week I put a suggestion on the website of the chief minister as regards starting cultivation to the uncultivated paddy fields around the Puthuppally area. The reply is yet to be received. In my opinion the people's effort as reported by you should be engouraged through the length and breadth of Kerala so that we can produce our own vegetables and fruits for our requirements.it will not only provide unadulterated food materials thereby reducing the hospital visits but also it will bring physical exercise and mental pleasure.
