NEW DELHI: Rahul Kannoly Praveen has found his place is the first 11 of the Indian sqad which will be taking on USA in the U-17 FIFA World Cup tournament Friday.

Dheeraj Singh will be the goal keeper for the Indian squad being led by Amarjit Singh Kiyam. Rahul, who is a native of Thrissur, is the only Malayalee in the Indian squad.

This is the first time in the history of sports in India that a Malayalee is taking part in a football world cup.

The Indian team is going in for the match against the USA with much confidence. Team coach Luís Norton de Matos is positive that his boys would present a good game in the first match itself.

Many prominent personalities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be there to watch the young Indian boys play on the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
