VENGARA: Vengara witnessed record polling in the by-election on Wednesday amid changing political scenario in the State. When the polling ended in the evening, 70.5 pc voters had cast their votes but this percentage is expected to rise when the final figures will be out. In the last year’s Assembly election, 70.77 polling was recorded.

Three hours into the polling, the Solar Commission report started coming out, sending shock waves through political circles. But, the UDF tried to maintain that the solar report had not affected the polling.

However, LDF camps said the report might make small impact on the election result while the voters gave mixed responses.
