THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan has said that V T Balram MLA, who revealed that some of the Congress leaders helped to sabotage the investigation of the murder of RMP leader T P Chandrasekharan, has to be questioned. He also informed that the BJP would write a letter to the DGP and the chief secretary demanding the same.

“The revelation by V T Balram is something very serious. He should appear for questioning at his own will if he values ethical politics by any standards,” he said, and added: “If he doesn’t appear for questioning on his own, case must be filed against him and a probe must be initiated. It should be revealed what the deal between the CPM and the UDF was for the former to end the solar protest.”

He also said that a special court must be formed to deal with the solar case that has far reaching impacts.

Kummanam further said that the BJP’s allegation that the two fronts in Kerala are practising compromise politics has now been proven right, and added that the claims by K Muraleedharan that he got CPM votes during the election in Vattiyoorkavu and the latest statement by V T Balram are proof enough for that.

“Now there is no need of two different fronts in Kerala to challenge the BJP. It’s better that the UDF and the LDF merge and become one single front,” he said.

He added: “It’s suspicious that A K Antony, who usually talks about ethical politics, and the Mahila Congress leadership is maintaining silence over these issues. I think A K Antony is silent because news about his son’s link with the solar case is out. The Congress should explain what happened to the notification released by the UDF government to investigate the conspiracy behind T P Chandrasekharan’s murder. The state government has never replied to the letters sent by the Centre regarding this.”
