KANNUR: A jawan on security duty at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala here died following cardiac arrest.

The INA informed in a press release on Sunday that 53-year-old serving jawan Rajeevan A M of the Defence Security Corps (DSC) posted at the INA died after he suffered cardiac arrest at the INA at 10.30 am. He was a native of Kongatta, at Patyam near Thalassery. After a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to his relative, the release said.

INA Deputy Commandant Rear Admiral M D Suresh placed a wreath on behalf of the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South) when the body was kept at the INA. A guard of honour was provided by the DSC Centre here during the funeral of the departed jawan at his native village, the release said.
