THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Vigilance has given clean chit to CPM leader V S Achuthanandan's son Arun Kumar in a case related to his appointment and promotion in IHRD.

In the Vigilance report, it is said that Arun was given appointment and promotion in accordance with his qualification and eligibility criteria and allegations against him in this regard were baseless.

The Vigilance has submitted a report acquitting Arun of all charges and this has taken years of investigation. He was appointed as IHRDC director during the tenure of E K Nayanar government. The allegation was that he was appointed though he didn't have required experience.

The probe was initiated on the basis of allegation raised in Assembly by a committee headed by V D Satheeshan.
