KASARAGOD: A 59-year-old farmer committed suicide at Kalathur in Ichilampadi village near Kumbla here. The dead has been identified as Ramakrishnan Alva, son of Madan Alva. His family members found him hanging inside a bathroom and rushed him to a hospital. However, his life could not be saved, the police said. His family members informed the police that the farmer had availed himself of loans and the inability to repay the dues in time could have forced him to resort to the extreme step.
