KOCHI: Talking to reporters after the NCP state executive meeting, NCP state president T P Peethambaran has said that Transport Minister Thomas Chandy, who is facing allegations of backwater encroachment, would resign if Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan insists.

He added that the state leadership cannot take a decision regarding the minister’s resignation and that they would inform the national leadership about the same.

Peethambaran Master also said that the court has not accused Thomas Chandy of any wrong doings.
