THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister Thomas facing allegations of encroachment has expressed his desire to resign on certain conditions. I’ll temporarily stay away from the cabinet and if found not guilty should be reinstated, requested Chandy. When the cabinet convened at 9 am, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed Chandy’s willingness to resign. The tainted minister spoke later and said that he has not done anything wrong. The media is haunting me, he said.

Chandy said the plea filed in the court against district collector’s report was not against the government. I approached the court as an individual. I have not done anything wrong. Will approach the Supreme Court against the high court verdict. I should be reinstated if the Supreme Court is in favour of me. The district collector’s report was unilateral without hearing my part and justice was denied, he said.

However, Minister G Sudhakaran said the issue worsened because of Thomas Chandy. His deeds weakened the government and the Left Front. Even other ministers sought his resignation.
