THRISSUR: In another case of apathy towards elderly persons, an 80-year-old man who was undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital, Thrissur, was found abandoned at Guruvayur.

         Girl held for assisting youth to abduct classmate    
KOCHI: The Muvattupuzha police have arrested a 20-year-old woman who allegedly assisted a youth in his attempt to abduct her classmate. Raseena, a native of Kunnathunadu, was held by the police based on the victim’s statement that she had tricked her into getting into a car last Saturday.

         Man held on rape charge    
KOCHI: The Aluva East police on Wednesday arrested a youth on charges of raping a girl student. The accused was identified as Farooq, a native of Vengola, near Perumbavur.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A youth missing from Eenchakkal for one-and-a-half years was traced from Tirupur in Tamil Nadu. The City police said he had eloped with a woman hailing from Kanjiramkulam.
